LIGHTS AND TAILS

As a dog photographer, I know how important it is to create a comfortable and familiar environment for dogs during a photoshoot. So when Janina’s Pet Care, a petsitter from Lugano invited me to collaborate on a Christmas photoshoot for her clients, I was thrilled. We had thoughtfully transformed a cozy corner of her space into a magical Christmas set, complete with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and plenty of room for her furry guests to feel at ease.

Using portable equipment, I recreated a full photography studio right in her location, proving that professional, quality photos can be achieved anywhere. This flexibility is one of the things I love most about my work, it allows me to meet dogs and their families where they feel most comfortable, whether it’s in their home, a familiar backyard, or, like in this case, a beautifully decorated pet-friendly setting.

The Christmas spirit was everywhere. Strings of warm fairy lights cast a golden glow, festive garlands and ornaments set the perfect holiday mood, and cozy blankets and pillows added an extra touch of comfort. The dogs, ranging from tiny pups to big, happy tail-waggers, felt right at home. Some posed patiently, while others brought their playful energy to the set, creating candid moments full of personality and charm.

What made this session so special was seeing how Janina’s clients trusted her (and, by extension, me) with their beloved dogs. Knowing their pets were in a familiar space made a huge difference, and it showed in the photos. Each dog’s unique character and the joyful holiday atmosphere shone through every image, whether it was a playful moment captured mid-action or a sweet, quiet pose by the glowing Christmas tree.

This experience reminded me how important it is to adapt to each dog’s needs, and it reaffirmed my commitment to creating beautiful, relaxed photoshoots wherever they’re needed. Whether it’s for Christmas or any other occasion, I’m here to turn moments of joy and love into timeless memories, while making sure every pup feels right at home
