FROM ZERMATT WITH LOVE

Some moments are so special that they feel like they belong in a fairytale. That’s exactly how it felt capturing Eric and Katy’s elopement in the heart of the Swiss Alps. From our very first email exchange, I could tell this was going to be an unforgettable experience—not just for them, but for me as well. Their trust in me to choose the perfect location for their vow exchange was both an honor and a responsibility. I wanted to give them a setting that would truly take their breath away.

We set our sights on Zermatt, a place where nature’s grandeur meets romance. Taking the mountain rail to Rotenboden, we stopped first at Riffelalp for a beautiful couple’s shoot, capturing intimate moments surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Alps.

But the highlight of the day was still to come. As we ascended to 2,815 meters above sea level, we were greeted by a crystal-clear blue sky, the perfect backdrop for Eric and Katy’s vows.
Nestled beside the magical Riffelsee, with the iconic Matterhorn reflecting in the water, the couple stood together, ready to promise forever. The silence of the mountains was broken only by the sound of the wind and the occasional crackling of ice.

It was a profoundly emotional moment. Witnessing them exchange their vows in such a breathtaking, intimate setting was nothing short of magical. And yes—behind the camera, I found myself shedding a tear, overwhelmed by the beauty of their love and the moment itself.

Being able to create and document such meaningful experiences is why I love what I do. Every couple’s story is unique, and capturing their love in an epic setting like this is something I never take for granted.
